We are pleased to reveal the 10th Annual Web Awards Finalists below -- all sites that have launched or been completely redesigned in 2006. Stay tuned for more in-depth information on each finalist.

Goddess:

Gaia-Mother Earth. She is from whom everything comes, but she is not quite divinity, because she is earth. She bore the titans as well as monsters like the hundred armed men and some of the Cyclopes. Others were sons of Poseidon. She was the daughter of Chaos, and the mother of all creatures (according to some). She was the first and last and wanted all of her children no matter what. She was primarily spoken of as a mother of other gods, rather than having her own myths. Gaia was the earth.

Gaia’s children included:

Uranus- son and husband

50 headed, 100 armed giants- cottus, briareus, and gyges.

The Cyclopes- Brontes, Steropes, and Arges (Cyclopes means wheel eyed)

The Titans- Oceans, Coeus, Crius, Hyperion, Lapetus, Cronus, Theia, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, and Tethys.

The Erinyes- Alecto, Tisiphone, and Megara

Giants- born full grown with armor and spears.

Meliads- otherwise known as the ash tree nymphs.

ALIUM: Strength.
 
ALSTROMERIA: Wealth, prosperity, fortune.
 
Alyssum: Worth beyond beauty
 
AMARYLLIS: Pride.
 
AMBROSIA: Love is reciprocated.
 
ANEMONE: Forsaken, expectation.Unfading love

ANTHURIUM: Lover.
 
APPLE BLOSSUMS: Good fortune.
 
ARBUTUS: Thee only do I love.
